Wilwood Disc Brakes has unveiled their latest big brake upgrade kits, tailored for the 1999-2012 Porsche 911 models, covering both the 996 and 997 generations. Designed to meet modern performance expectations, these kits bring significant enhancements to braking power and durability, both at the front and rear of the vehicle.

The front upgrade features Aerolite six-piston calipers crafted from forged aluminum, known for their strength and lightweight properties. These calipers include stainless steel pistons and high-temperature seals, ensuring consistent performance under extreme conditions. The accompanying two-piece 356mm rotors, made from Wilwood’s proprietary Spec37 iron alloy, are a notable upgrade, significantly larger than the stock components. They come with lightweight forged aluminum mounting hats, further reducing unsprung weight.

For the rear, Wilwood introduces the latest version of their trusted Superlite calipers, also forged from aluminum. Wilwood Disc Brakes has introduced new pedal assembly bases designed specifically for their Tandem Master Cylinder series, suitable for both floor and swing mount installations. These bases are straightforward to install and come with all the necessary hardware for integration with most master cylinder or clutch systems.

Each model features Wilwood's adjustable design elements. The foot pedal pad allows horizontal adjustments up to 1 inch to accommodate driver preferences, and the pad head can be set in one of three positions to alter the pedal ratio. This adjustability provides a range of pedal ratios for enhanced control and performance: the floor mount model offers 5.25:1, 5.62:1, and 6.00:1 ratios, while the swing mount version provides 6.25:1, 6.62:1, and 7.00:1.

The pedal assemblies are made from high-strength, lightweight forged aluminum. Additionally, Wilwood offers a selection of accessories, including pedal covers, trim plates, adjustable pedal heads, arms of various lengths, and bolt kits, allowing for further customization.

Founded in 2002, R1 Concepts is among the newer brands of brakes on the marketplace, but not without their fair share of experience in motorsports and aftermarket applications. When we reached out for an unboxing, they upped the ante. Not only would they send us the performance brake package for our in-house Lexus ES350, but they would also include an OE-replacement set for our CEO's minivan. In addition to a nice upgrade for some of the guys in the office, this also gave us a chance to compare the differences between the two rotor options in the R1 Concepts Geo-Carbon series. Project Mu Rear Forged Sport Calipers w/ Side Brake

A rear caliper kit for drifting that controls the foot and parking brakes with one caliper. With two opposing pistons for the foot brake on one side, and two opposing pistons to control the hydraulic handbrake on the other, this caliper kit is designed specially for drifting.
