Did you go to school to study photography?
No, I'm self-taught in photography. Well, I guess I was taught some camera basics in elementary school (LOL). As far as writing, I took some advanced courses in high school, and technical writing in college.
How did you get into photography?
I had a Toyota Celica GTS that I competed with at various car shows. During the events, I would take photos with a pocket camera and post on forums. I also saw photographers at work, as they shot my car. From then, I decided to become serious about becoming a photographer as well. Writing came as something to compliment the features online and in magazines. Recently, I've gotten into video, to add something more to the photoshoots I do.
How long have you been a photographer?
Semi-professional photography for about 8 years (feeling old now LOL)
How would you describe your style?
Freestyle, dynamic, adapting with any situation.
What equipment and software do you use?
I've used Olympus most of my career, but over the last couple of years to date I use Panasonic and Canon cameras/lens. I travel often, so all my equipment, lighting, etc is portable. Software includes Photoshop and Videostudio.
Where is your favorite location to shoot pictures?
I'm not sure that I have one favorite location, but most of the time I seem to be shooting in car shops/garages/warehouses.
Are you a Mac or PC user?
PC!
What has been your most memorable assignment?
Looking over my career overall, there are so many highlights that it's difficult to pick the best. But in in recent years, I'd have to say my photoshoot last year with Ashley Vee. It was memorable because she was someone I never thought (or planned) that I'd work with, weather was bad that day, everything was behind schedule, etc... yet the result was some of my best work, not just in photography but video as well! It was a lot of fun!
What would you say to other enthusiast photographers out there who aspire to become a great photographer/videographer?
Keep shooting and learning! Also, never forget to have fun and enjoy the art.
Experiences and credentials?
I have experience in glamour, fashion, commercial, automotive, engagement, family, real estate, and event photography. Too many credits to list here but much can be found on website. My work has been published in PAS several times, and I have worked a few events for them as well.
Any finals words?
Special thanks to Randi Bentia and everyone at PAS!
