ML24: Nemesis R1

ML24: Nemesis R1
The unfortunate truth for car enthusiasts is that we are never content. If it makes 800HP, we want 900hp. If it has negative 10 degrees of camber, we want negative 12. It's a never-ending cycle of being one's best self, and the Nemesis R1 is a prime example of never being satisfied, and building a full, one-off racecar for the streets. The Nemesis R1 isn鈥檛 just a car; it鈥檚 a spectacle, an engineering feat, and most importantly, a work of art. A project more than a decade in the making, the R1 is the brainchild of Tim Neil and the design experts at ML24, the same people who design a gorgeous widebody kit for the FR-S, BRZ and 86, and more. Together, they鈥檝e taken the world of automotive design and engineering to a new level by combining futuristic, almost Cybertruck-like edges, with the raw power of motorsport engineering.

Designed to be a single-seater, mid-engine sports car, the Nemesis R1 draws its inspiration from an array of exciting cars we love but never see. The BAC Mono, KTM X-Bow, Batmobile and Formula 1 are all the inspirations for this car. The result? A truly one-of-a-kind vehicle that鈥檚 impossible to ignore. But what makes the R1 truly stand out? It鈥檚 more than just the eye-catching design. It鈥檚 the fact that it was built entirely by hand, right here in Southern Ontario. From the very first sketch to the final piece of bodywork, Tim and the ML24 team used their extensive design skills to bring the R1 to life. The process included everything from 3D visualizations and laser scanning to designing the shell for 3D printing. In fact, Tim took on the large task of assembling the entire car himself, handling everything from the mechanical components to the custom-made framework and bodywork.

Underneath its futuristic exterior, the R1 is powered by an EJ207, paired with a built driveline. This car isn鈥檛 just about looks 鈥 it鈥檚 built to perform on road and track too. But what鈥檚 even more impressive than its performance is how it manages to attract attention wherever it goes. Whether it鈥檚 on the streets of Toronto or at the Autoshow, the R1 stops people in their tracks. When Tim drove the car through Milton and Oakville for photoshoots, every single person, whether in traffic or walking on the street, couldn鈥檛 help but stare. Onlookers took out their phones, snapped pictures, and even stopped in parking lots just to ask about the car. The amount of attention it garnered is unprecedented, even when compared to some of the world鈥檚 most expensive supercars.

The car鈥檚 success isn鈥檛 just in its head-turning ability 鈥 it鈥檚 a testament to years of hard work and creativity. Tim and the ML24 team took their time perfecting every detail, from the chassis to the body design. Their relentless pursuit of innovation led to a build that pushes the boundaries of automotive design and craftsmanship. This vehicle is the true definition of modern coachbuilding.

For Tim and the talented team over at ML24, the CIAS is an opportunity to present a project that embodies creativity, hard work, and pure imagination. The team knows that the R1 will leave a lasting impression at every booth display and automotive gathering it attends in the coming months.
