Tyler Barrow purchased the 2012 Volkswagen Golf R in November 2017 with the help of his father in law. After he passed away in June of 2018, Barrow finally started the build process. "He was my inspiration for the build," Barrow mentions, "and he loved anything gold and anything that was done proper." Together, they always argued on whose car was faster - his father's Porsche or his Golf R. This is the reason Barrow built his car the way it is today. "He pushed my to do better," he mentions, "and to make the best build I possibly could."
It's unfortunate that Barrow's father isn't here today to witness the Golf R at its current stage, but I'm sure he's nodding with approval from above, and still arguing that his Porsche is faster.
