Kevin Cassar of Cassar Performance gave us a breakdown of their awesome Project Freedom Mustang in the Royal Purple booth at SEMA 2022 - a modern tribute to the ‘68 California Special. As you might expect, all applicable fluids are from Royal Purple. The modifications to the Coyote V8 allow it to rev to 8,000 RPM and make 530 naturally aspirated horsepower at the rear wheels, making it one of the most powerful N/A Coyote V8s in this generation of Mustang. The Cassar Performance team spent countless hours going over this build down to every nut and bolt.
Modifications include: spherical bearings, spherical ball joints, new upper and lower control arms, Fortune Auto 510 series 24-way adjustable coilovers co-developed with Cassar Performance, and solid IRS subframe with solid mounts for everything possible. All of this suspension work allows Project Freedom to pull 2.5 lateral Gs in corners. It also features the largest S550 brakes you can fit, as well as drilled and slotted rotors. There is so much more to this Mustang than meets the eye, so check out the full video for the entire breakdown!
